CLARINET

Communication of Local Authorities for INtegration in European Towns

The CLARINET project is led by the Municipality of Lampedusa and Linosa in partnership with other 7 border Local Authorities, 9 Civil Society Organizations and 2 international networks, thus engaging 8 EU Countries (Italy, Austria, Slovenia, Cyprus, Greece, Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary).

The project objective is to raise awareness among EU citizens of the contribution migrants make to our societies. To this end, in a first phase CLARINET aims at identifying and promoting good practice in public communication campaigns on migration and integration implemented by, or on behalf of, Public Authorities, through the launch of a European Award. In a second phase, by way of the creation of a ToolKit and on-the-job training programmes, the project intends to empower local border authorities to implement successful evidence-based public communication campaigns on migration and integration.

Within the framework of the CLARINET project, Africa e Mediterraneo creates the project visual identity, works on the European Award implementation and realizes the Toolkit, in addition to promoting the project activities through its social media channels. Moreover, Africa e Mediterraneo directly manages the project secretariat and administration.

CLARINET is a three-year project (January 2019 – December 2021) co-funded by the European Union’s Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund.
