We have chosen to collaborate with artists and creative talents of African and migrant origin as a primary means of transmitting messages and promoting a thought of openness to dialogue and coexistence between different cultures.
We are in fact convinced that the creative work of authors from diverse backgrounds is an effective tool for putting ideas and images into circulation that support the building of a society open to differences.
Our idea of coexistence stems from responsibility and participation, principles that can support a change that involves migrant citizens, natives, but also the public services and the civil society.
The challenge is to support the local communities in the search for an intercultural dialogue capable of bringing out what there is in common in order to then tackle the differences without mutual fears in a logic of reciprocal enrichment.
We promote the intercultural awareness between Italy and Africa through activities of educational development and cooperation.
In addition to the dissemination of the biannual magazine “Africa e Mediterraneo” – which publishes articles and images relating to the visual arts, literature, music, media, food and various other contemporary cultural expressions of African countries- we carry out studies, exhibitions, meetings and training courses.
